Law roundup: Woman calls 911 over shooting noise, upset animals

| March 4, 2021 12:00 AM

A Columbia Falls woman called 911 because people reportedly had been shooting firearms near a bridge for the past hour and she and her animals were upset about the noise. She was put on hold so dispatchers could answer a medical emergency 911 call and she hung up. Dispatchers called her back and her questions were answered.

A woman wanted Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies to move along a homeless man with suitcases who allegedly was setting up camp behind trailers on Bando Lane in Kalispell.

A woman calling from U.S. 2 in Kalispell said she was missing two dogs. She was eager for their return because one of the dogs had given birth a few weeks ago and there were hungry puppies at home.

A man allegedly drove over a snow berm he said a neighbor built in a “common parking area” between trailers in Evergreen, and underneath it, were cinder blocks which damaged his truck. He wanted a deputy to respond and sort things out. The man was advised the incident was a civil issue. It appeared the blocks were in a neighbor’s parking area and it was unknown who put them there, but there wasn’t any indication it was done to damage his vehicle.

A black vehicle reportedly drove up and down Oregon Street in Kalispell, flashing a light at other vehicles. The people in the vehicle said they were looking for their cat.

A possibly intoxicated man carrying a bag on his back was being a traffic hazard when he was seen walking in a turn lane and yelling.

A Coram resident was warned about making a false report when he called Columbia Falls Police Department claiming he was assaulted by a school administrator but a video showed otherwise.

Two men and two women reportedly were involved in a physical disturbance on Second Avenue and a front desk employee wanted them removed from the premises. Two people renting a room at the location wouldn’t answer the door, one of the men planned to sleep in his vehicle in the parking lot and another left. No one would say what actually happened.
