Wayne Leon Hassett, 65

Wayne Leon Hassett passed away at his home in Columbia Falls March 2, 2021.

Wayne was born in California Dec. 25, 1955, to George and Adelia Hassett. He grew up in the Southern Oregon communities of Brookings and Myrtle Point, and graduated from Clackamas High School in Clackamas, Oregon.

He later lived in Newport, Oregon, where he met and married the love of his life, Sylvia Dawn Hassett, before eventually moving to Columbia Falls.

Wayne played guitar and was passionate in praising his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with his music. He also loved collecting Western gear and participating in re-enactments and cowboy shooting events.

Wayne’s parents predeceased him.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his daughter Angelina Schriever and son Taylor Hassett, both of Portland; sister, Nancy Thiessen (Denis) of Brightwood, Oregon; brothers, Ron (Sharon) of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dan (Amy) of Crocker, Missouri, and Glenn (Rosalie) of Tillamook, Oregon; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A family memorial service was held at the home March 3. A public service will be scheduled later.
