Law roundup: No illumination in Marion light incident

| March 13, 2021 12:00 AM

Someone in Marion told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office his neighbor was pointing lights into his house. Apparently one of the people involved in the neighborly quarrel “has a history of telling lies,” but it was unclear whether that accusation referred to the caller or his neighbor.

A man driving in Hungry Horse apparently gave “third-hand information” about a suspect in a gas station incident from weeks earlier.

A woman said she purchased some lamps from an alleged “estate sale,” but she wanted to know if they had been stolen before she bought them. According to detectives, there were no reports of stolen lamps at the time of the woman’s purchase.

An unreliable business partner reportedly deposited a check into the wrong bank account, then refused to tell his colleague where he deposited the money.

A woman said a man was headed fishing when he left two dogs in his car. She told the Sheriff’s Office “when you go fishing, you go fishing all day.” However, she must not have been all that concerned with the animals’ welfare, because she left the scene and hung up on dispatchers when they asked her last name.

A Kalispell resident said they needed “to get a permit for chickens right away.” No further explanation for the poultry passion was given.

A Kalispell woman said her mail was stolen early in the morning and she didn’t know who took it.

A driver in Whitefish refused to stop for a man with his thumb sticking out because the driver said he was “scared.” It turned out the other man was “very intoxicated” but he got a ride home.
