ATP premiers rock drama at new Mountain Center
Annie Jones, Luke Walrath and Betsi Morrison star in Alpine Theatre Project's rock drama "Next to Normal," premiering April 3 at ATP's new location, the Mountain Center, 6475 U.S. 93 S., Whitefish.
Alpine Theatre Project presents the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical, “Next to Normal” Saturday, April 3 and April 11, at ATP’s new performance home, the Mountain Center (the former Mountain Cinemas) at the Mountain Mall in Whitefish.
“Next to Normal” takes an unflinching look at grief, loss and the effects of mental illness on a suburban family.
Dad's an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family.
And yet, their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. “Next to Normal” takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family's story with love, sympathy and heart.
Starring Betsi Morrison, Luke Walrath, Annie Jones, Sam Benkelman, Ross Bridgeman and Nick Brester, and directed by Walrath, “Next to Normal” is a contemporary rock drama.
