Man arrested following high-speed chase

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office helped arrest a man involved in a high-speed chase early Sunday morning.

According to information from Sheriff Brian Heino, Joseph Brown, 36, was arrested and is currently jailed in the Lake County Detention Center.

Brown is facing several charges, including criminal endangerment, possession with intent to sell dangerous drugs, fleeing from police, driving on a suspended or revoked license and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The chase began in the Polson area at about midnight Sunday and authorities allege Brown drove north on U.S. 93. Flathead County deputies used spike strips near Angel Point Road and U.S. 93, which forced Brown to slow his speed.

Deputies then used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle just south of Lakeside.

The Polson Police Department and Lake County Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
