Law roundup: Toolman suspected of damaging door

| March 25, 2021 12:00 AM

A man was suspicious that criminal mischief was underway when he saw a man walking between his vehicle and another vehicle, carrying a bag of tools, and then noticed the top of his passenger door was damaged and loose. He told the Kalispell Police Department the toolman left in a red pickup that sounded loud and squeaky.

Dispatchers received a call from an intoxicated woman in a motel. She was allegedly with another intoxicated woman who was possibly relapsing on meth and screaming in the background about the other woman’s son hitting her. Dispatchers heard a lot more screaming and what sounded like the other woman trying to take away the phone when the line disconnected. Officers checked the area and learned the women had separated for the night.

A woman reportedly got into a verbal altercation with her sister, and then her sister’s friend, who was trying to go to sleep, threatened to kick her skull in. Parties were separated for the night.

A man alleged there was a “hobo camp” on his property located by the railroad tracks that was created using an old flatbed trailer and pallets. The camp also had a clothesline set up, according to the man.

A woman reportedly kept receiving credit cards in the mail and reached out for advice on the situation.

A man was being tailgated by a gray truck while driving in his neighborhood. When he turned into his driveway, the truck sped off. The man claimed this has happened more than once and felt the person was trying to intimidate him, but he didn’t know why.

People were playing loud music, yelling and swearing at each other in a garage.

A man was lying on the ground by a bus stop.

A business reportedly was having ongoing issues with a man loitering because he kept coming in and out despite being asked to leave multiple times and was asking people to buy him food. He was moved along.

Someone allegedly smashed out the back windshield of a man’s vehicle.

The back window of a woman’s vehicle was shattered, but she didn’t think anything had been stolen. It appeared a vehicle passing by may have kicked up gravel which hit the window, damaging it.

A man kept falling asleep at casino machines and wouldn’t leave despite being asked. A manager told officers they let him come in hours ago to warm up, eat and drink some coffee, but now it was time to go. The manager called back to report he left and they didn’t need officers to move him along.

A bright yellow and green Marlin 5 Trek bicycle with matching pedals and orange grips was reported stolen.
