Marilyn Elaine Eames Bachus

A joyful soul departed for heaven to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior and with other loved ones who have gone before her. Marilyn passed away on March 19, 2021, at the Loveland Mas Alla Hospice Home after battling congestive heart failure.

Marilyn was born on June 10, 1940, to Jim and Adeline Eames of Boulder, Colorado. She grew up in Boulder, Arvada, Dallas, and Midwest City, Oklahoma. She graduated from Our Lady of Victory Academy in Fort Worth, Texas in 1958. That same year she married Norman Alvin “Al” Grimes of Choctaw, Oklahoma. The couple moved to San Diego where Al was stationed in the Navy. They had two children, Teresa Marie, born March 25, 1960, and James Alan, born Dec. 25, 1961. The couple later divorced. Marilyn married Raymond Keith Bachus in San Diego in1977. While in San Diego, Marilyn worked as a medical and payroll accountant for various medical and business practices. Upon retirement in 1991, Marilyn and Raymond moved to Kalispell. Marilyn volunteered as a hospice worker and also as a receptionist in the radiation/oncology department of the local hospital. Marilyn moved to Loveland, Colorado in 2019 to be closer to family. Marilyn was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Kalispell and an active participant at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. She was an accomplished equestrian rider and an avid reader. She will be remembered for her warm hugs and her caring and compassionate nature. She had the ability to thrive in times of need and in times of plenty. She revealed a positive perseverance, especially when health issues claimed a part of her life.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband, Raymond (2014).

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Howarth (Gary), of Chula Vista, California; her son, James Grimes (Janean) of Lakeside, California; her stepson, Victor Bachus of Bull Head City, Arizona; her granddaughter, Avalon Baylor (Andy) of Santee, California; her great-grandson, Landon Baylor; her sister, Carolyn Straight (Arza) of Loveland, Colorado; and her niece, Haven Straight of Loveland, Colorado. She will also be missed by many friends.

Cremation has been conducted. Private family services will be held in late spring. Inurnment will be at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder.
