Resort wraps up slopestyle season with Corn Cup

Whitefish Mountain Resort wrapped up its competitive freestyle season last weekend at the annual Corn Cup. The slopestyle competitors hit jumps and features in the Central Park and 2nd Avenue terrain parks.

Conner Byle posted the highest score of the day, turning a 34.5 on his best run to win the men’s open ski division. Murdock Burton scored a best-run 33 to win the men’s open snowboard category. Elyse Byrd was the lone woman in the open ski, posting an impressive 26 score.

In the upper division for intermediate to advanced competitors, skier Liam Byrd took the top spot on the podium with a 32.5. Isak Soyland placed second with a 31 and Max Polumbus placed third with a 28.

Snowboarder Leighton Macdonald scored a 19.5 to take first, while Emmet Donaldson and Tosh Layton each score 18.5 for second place.

On the women’s side, Svea Layton won the snowboard title, edging out Joy Sund, and Caroline Karvelsson won the ski division.
