Scott Marshall Murray, 56

Scott Marshall Murray, formerly of Kalispell, died at his home in Incline Village, Nevada, on March 17, 2021.

He was born May 11, 1964, in Kalispell to Joan Brooks Murray of Portland and Marshall H. Murray of Forest Grove, Oregon. They survive him.

Scott was an athlete at Flathead High School, lettering in football, basketball and track. He set a rushing record in football that stood for decades. He graduated from the University of Montana. While attending UM, Scott played Grizzly football and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

Scott was in the hospitality industry near Truckee, California. Over the years he worked at luxury golf courses in Palm Springs, California, and the Lake Tahoe area. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed skiing at the many Tahoe resorts. Scott had a way a making sure all people felt welcome and always could make a new friend.

Scott is also survived by his sister Mary Katherine “Kathy” Ficken, husband Mark and nieces Liz of Portland, Emelia, her husband Matt and their child, Jamie of Lakeview, Colorado, and nephew Karl of Portland. In addition, Scott is survived by his aunts, Connie Lord (Ed), Phyllis, and Avice (Ivan) and their families.

Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Marsha Murray-Lusby and remained close with his brother-in-law Russ and their children Drew and Rachel, all from Portland.
