Law roundup: Thief pulls off ribbon theft

A woman on Washington Avenue told the Whitefish Police Department a package containing $40 worth of silk ribbon was stolen after being delivered. She didn’t wish to pursue charges but wanted it documented in case it became a pattern.

An extremely intoxicated woman alleged a bouncer pushed her out of a bar on Central Avenue.

A man who was slurring his words and wanted to remain anonymous called the police from U.S. 93, claiming he was going to call ICE and wanted officers aware he saw more than a dozen people get out of a van and truck in parking lot who he thought were illegal immigrants and undocumented workers who might be “taking jobs from locals” with no proof other than “they looked Hispanic.”

Two people reportedly kept passing out in a vehicle on Baker Avenue. A tow truck was called.

A grandmother apologized to officers when her granddaughter called 911 while playing with the phone.

A landlord on Spokane Avenue called officers on an 18-year-old’s behalf, wanting a man arrested who she claimed was high on meth, had a tinfoil packet in his pocket and was threatening the teen to take him to places. She was advised he had not committed any crimes for which to be arrested and requested the teen call in to report the incident since it was occurring in her apartment.

A transient was trespassing at a location on U.S. 93 when he was found sleeping.

Someone found medication in a parking lot on U.S. 93 and turned it in at the police department for disposal.
