Law roundup: 'Under-the-table' worker is unsatisfied

| May 7, 2021 12:00 AM

A man allegedly agreed to “work for cash under the table,” and then he was upset when his employer apparently failed to pay him. The Kalispell Police Department advised him of his options, but he became “unsatisfied with advice, declined further...assistance and hung up.”

A fight between a man and a woman in Kalispell was overheard in the background of a 911 call. The dispatcher described hearing “things falling on the floor,” and what sounded like “stomping.” However, the parties in the disturbance said it was only a “verbal” altercation.

Someone on Darlene Road told the Columbia Falls Police Department they heard gunshots to the south of their residence. They specifically said it sounded like someone was firing a firearm “larger than a .22 caliber,” but after that they didn’t hear anything more.

A “large Golden Retriever” and a “little Chihuahua” were running loose on Third Avenue in Columbia Falls. The caller who spotted the pair of pups said they looked “terrified.”

Someone found a bunch of items “scattered” on Cedar Flats Road. The find appeared to be abandoned, but the person who discovered it was worried it could be “possible drugs.”

A driver apparently was keeping tabs on another motorist in Columbia Falls. He said he was nearly hit by a “small car” and then his girlfriend came close to getting into a collision with the same driver in a different vehicle.

A Columbia Falls woman allegedly “bumped her phone with her knee” and it dialed 911. She gave her name and location, then immediately hung up.
