Northwest Ballet offers virtual spring production
The Northwest Ballet Company presents its 41st annual spring production virtually for this 2021 season. To view the performance, "Alors on Danse (So We Dance)," visit www.northwestballet.com and click on the link. A $25 payment is needed for a virtual ticket, but the show can be viewed multiple times from today through Sunday, May 23.
This year's show features classical excerpts from "Swan Lake," "Cinderella," "Sleeping Beauty," "Don Quixote," "Coppelia," and "Chorus Line," as well as new contemporary choreography by three Northwest Ballet School faculty, and six Northwest Ballet Company members or guests.
“Although adhering to all the safety precautions has been daunting, it's worth it to have those kids in our dance space for classes and rehearsals, working toward something uplifting that brings them much pleasure and is so good not only for the body and mind, but for the soul and the spirit as well!" said owner and director Marisa Roth.
When thinking about her “last dance” with the Northwest Ballet Company, home school senior and principal dancer Madison Brewer-Leatzow said, "I have been dancing for so long it feels like, and it has been, some of the best years of my life … Yes, the end of an amazing season brings a tear to my eye, but the memories I have with all the wonderful people at the Northwest Ballet will last a lifetime."
