Scott Alan Mahlen, 48

| May 13, 2021 12:00 AM

It is with extreme sadness that on May 6, 2021, we lost our beloved Scott way too soon.

Scott was born June 18, 1972. He worked numerous jobs, from being in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, to painting houses in Kalispell, as well as building log furniture with his late grandfather Elmer.

Scott was an avid fishing and hunting sportsman. He had fished the Mack Days tournament for several years with his younger brother Jason. He always said he was in “awe” of his brother's fishing skills, and was ranked one of the top anglers throughout the years. He was fond of wind therapy on his Harley, and loved to go on rides with his sister Summer and friends. Scott loved to have fun and was the life of the party with his jokes or dance moves — he could always make anyone laugh.

He is survived by his parents, Linda and David Sichting, of Kalispell; his father, Bruce Mahlen, of Shoshoni, Wyoming; grandmother Naomi Morris, brother Jason and wife Anna Mahlen, sister Wendy and husband Jeff Nortome, sister Kayla and husband Jordan Laven, and sister Summer and husband Jason Laven, all of Kalispell. Scott's children were the light of his life. He is also survived by his partner of many years, Sophie Owen, and their daughters Olivia and Naomi. He is survived by daughter Kendra and grandson Kingston; daughter Ashley An and grandson Aaron; and daughter Josie, brother-in-law Nick and wife Crystal Sichting, brother-in-law Brandon and wife Talina Sichting and sister-in-law Melissa Sichting.

Life will never be the same for us without our happy, caring, loving, young funny Scottie. We will love you forever.

A memorial ride poker run will be held June 5.
