Brooke Lynn Hanson, 15

| May 26, 2021 12:00 AM

Our family sadly lost a daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend on May 20, 2021, at the young age of 15. Brooke, also known by close family and friends as Brooke Trout, was unexpectedly taken from us while on her way to a fishing hole, rod in hand.

Brooke was born in Kalispell on March 28, 2006, to parents Mike and Jessie Hanson. Growing up in Columbia Falls, she was active in sports, 4-H shooting, and loved to attend events such as the local rodeo series. Also, on her list of enjoyments were camping, boating, and taking out her paddleboard. Mostly, Brooke liked to go fishing with her family on late summer nights and to spend time with her close friend, Alizia, whom she loved dearly.

As a young teenager full of personality and love in her heart, Brooke was a light in everyone’s life she was a part of. Whether you knew her for years, or just a short time, her presence made a difference. Brooke was an incredible piece of all our lives that will be terribly missed.

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Jason, Grandpa Jim, and great-grandparents.

Brooke is survived by her parents, Mike and Jessie; sisters, Ashley Thompson, Maraika and Mandy Hanson; brother, Mason Hanson; nephews, Colten and Wyatt, and niece Melia. Also, surviving are grandparents, Jerry and Rita Hanson of Whitefish, and Kathy Morrow of Phoenix, as well as Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Morgan Hanson.

Columbia Mortuary is caring for Brooke’s family.

Service for Brooke will be at Bible Baptist Church, 63 Dove Lane in Kalispell, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, with a potluck lunch to follow services.
