Whitefish Woody Weekend returns June 25
After a one-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Big Sky Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society will host Whitefish Woody Weekend IX on the weekend of June 25-27.
The weekend is a classic boat event, attracting award-winning wooden boats from across the country, and one of Whitefish's signature summer events.
Hosted by the Lodge at Whitefish Lake, this year's event will feature 38 boats from all over Northwest, Utah, California and Florida, including 13 boats new to the event.
Marking the unofficial beginning of summer, Whitefish Woody Weekend IX will kick off with a cruise parade around Whitefish Lake the evening of June 25.
The boats will be on public display at the Lodge from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 26. The display will be free and open to the public.
The morning of June 27 will feature a poker run with the boats out on the lake, followed by a barbecue on the beach at the Lodge for event participants.
The event is family-friendly and open to all ages. The public can hang around the lake on Friday, then get an up-close look at the craftsmanship of the old boats at meet the owners on Saturday.
Organizers said participants should follow the latest public health guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
