Letters to the editor Nov. 6
Thank you, Whitefish
With humble and moved hearts, my team Roxy, Ross, Jim Ramlow, Titus, and the late Sophie, and I thank you for your support, votes and trust.
I walked in the arena with the intent to serve you all, and you are keeping me in the arena to do so. I now more than ever will need to hear your voices, the very ones I vowed to carry to our City Council.
Thank you so very much, and God bless.
Andy Feury and Ben Davis, congratulations for a clear triumph. Judy Hesselund, Kristen Riter, Terry Petersen, Phil Boland, and Vince Dell’Omo, credit goes to you all for daring greatly, so that Whitefish shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat!
I will create a Facebook private group for all of you and a closed email group for the ones not using Facebook.
Please text me on 775-343-2809, saying “I am in the arena with you”, your name, your email address. Or email me on CaltabianoGiuseppe@gmail.com.
— Giuseppe Caltabiano, Whitefish
Honor veterans
We write to encourage people to join us in ringing bells in honor of all military veterans this Veterans Day.
At 11 a.m., on Nov. 11, the American Legion leads communities across the nation in a ceremony honoring the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We welcome the American Legion as they commemorate this event with Smith Memorial Day Care Center of Epworth United Methodist Church.
Before the ceremony, older preschoolers will learn about the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They already know the Pledge of Allegiance, which they will recite as part of the ceremony.
We encourage churches and others to join in ringing bells on Veterans Day, as we express our gratitude to all who have served.
— Rev. Karen McRae, Epworth UMC, and Tammy Braseth, director at Smith Memorial Day Care Center.
Socialist propaganda
It is sickening to read this liberal slanted “news” paper and see all the fake articles filled with propaganda. Case in point: The Covid article saying the hospitals are just overflowing with Covid patients. What a pile of propaganda. If you had a backbone you would not regurgitate the garbage that is sent to you by the socialists that control you. Serve the people with truth, not lies.
—Gary Martin, Kalispell
[EDITOR’s note: The information regarding Covid hospitalizations is provided by local hospital officials. We have also spoken to local health-care workers and family members of Covid patients, and we understand all too well what people are going through during this pandemic. All of our editorial decisions are made locally, by people who are your friends and neighbors. Given our experience, it takes a far stronger backbone to publish the truth, even when we know we will receive unfounded criticism for doing so. Covid should never be considered a political issue. Community members have become sick, some have died, and our hospital has eclipsed capacity. That is the truth, not propaganda. The Daily Inter Lake supports all the physicians and nurses who continue to work tirelessly to care for our neighbors and keep the community healthy.]
