LIBBY — Columbia Falls ended the regular season on a high note with a 7-0 Northern A girls soccer win over Libby on Saturday.

Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz scored four goals and Maddie Robison added two. Robison and Johnston-Heinz each had an assist.

“Proud of the girls for finishing the season strong, when you’re waiting for the playoffs it can be hard to focus,” coach Thomas Clark said.

Kya West scored her first varsity goal. Clark opted not to start Robison and Johnston-Heinz and instead allowed other players to rack up some varsity minutes.

Hope McAtee got three assists for the Wildkats.

The Wildkats finish the regular season 9-3 overall and 6-2 in Northern A. They await the winner of Tuesday’s play-in game between Livingston and Laurel to determine their opponent for the first round of the playoffs.

LIBBY — Kai Golan set a Columbia Falls school record for goals in a season Saturday in Libby, where the Wildcats won 5-0.

The previous school record was 17 set by Logan Stephens in 2017. Golan tied that record Thursday and set a new record with his 18th and 19th goals in Libby.

“Deep sigh of relief, we made it through the regular season,” coach O’Brien Byrd said. “We’re continuing to build. The last four games in a row we have continued to improve where we need to improve.”

Braeden Fairchild played in goal for the injured Bryce Dunham and had one save in the shutout.

“He had big shoes to fill and he did it easily today,” Byrd said.

Dale Blickhan assisted on two goals and scored a goal. Ethan Austin had a goal and an assist.

The Wildcats (9-2-1, 6-2) will be scoreboard watching Tuesday — the winner of Livingston and Lone Peak’s play-in game will determine their first round opponent.
