THOMPSON FALLS — Led by Jack Jensen’s third-place finish — and Bo Modderman’s 15th — the Bigfork Vikings won the Western B Divisional boys cross country title Wednesday at Rivers Bend Golf Course.

The win snapped Eureka’s streak of four straight divisional boys crowns, and completed a boys-girls sweep for Bigfork. The Lions’ Isaac Reynolds was individual champion, winning in 16 minutes, 54.7 seconds, and led a 1-2 Eureka finish with Gavin Bates.

Bigfork had Jensen (16.56.89, just .07 behind Bates) plus seniors Elliot Sanford and Ryder Nollan in fifth and sixth and North Nollan in 11th.

Modderman took 15th at 16:53.81, .03 faster than Eureka’s Parker Bates. The Vikings scored 40 points to 41 for Eureka. Mission was third at 93.

Jensen and Bates were among several boys that ran their personal bests Wednesday.

The girls race went similarly: Eureka’s Taylor Lancaster won the individual title in a personal-best 21:29.71, but Bigfork had Tabitha Raymond leading a 3-4-11-12 finish that guided the Vals to the team title. Raymond’s time of 22:10.1 was a PR, as was the 22:24.2 run by teammate Mahali Kuzyk.

Bigfork had 52 points, followed by Deer Lodge at 57 and Eureka at 63.

There were nine Class C boys competing and six girls.

Scott Parke of Drummond ran 18:16.56, which would have been 12th among the boys, and Charlo’s Guienever Contreras clocked 23:49.28, which was 13th among the girls.
