Libby downs Wildkat netters in 3 games

COLUMBIA FALLS — Julia Martineau had nine kills, nine digs and two aces to help Libby beat Columbia Falls in straight sets Tuesday, in Northwest A volleyball.

“Libby showed, knew what they wanted to accomplish and did it,” Columbia Falls coach Jolandie Brooks said. “My message to the team was: This is what end-of-season volleyball looks like — get on board and let’s get back to work.”

Ember Rode added six kills and nine digs for the Loggers. Grace Gedlaman had four kills to lead the Wildkats.

WHITEFISH — Reina Cordova powered down 13 kills and Ronan swept aside Whitefish in three games, in another Northwest A battle.

Jadi Walburn had seven kills and two blocks for the Bulldogs, who lost the last two games by a total of four points. Brooke Zetooney had five kills and three blocks.

“We had six seniors play their last game on our home court,” Whitefish coach Addy Connelly said. “Our middle hitters did a nice job at the net, hitting and blocking. Ashleigh (Markovitz) and Emma (Trieweiler) did a nice job of digging in the back row.”
