Big Sky subdues Flathead

MISSOULA — Missoula Big Sky quarterback Caleb Hren threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns, and the Eagles beat Flathead 34-6 in a Western AA football matchup Friday.

Hren hit Louis Sanders with three touchdown passes covering 43, 18 and 29 yards as the Eagles (3-6 overall, 2-5 in league games) nailed down the West’s No. 6 seed into in the AA playoffs. Sanders had nine catches for 163 yards.

Flathead (0-9, 0-7) got a 15-yard touchdown pass from Nate Skonord to Dylan Zink for its only points. The Braves sacked Hren five times but managed just 96 yards of offense.

Skonord, making his first start at QB, ran for 22 yards and threw for 50. Trevor Burke picked up 21 yards on seven carries for Flathead.
