Eureka cruises to win; C-Falls falls to Broncs

EUREKA — Remington Little and Joey Kindel scored two touchdowns each and Eureka made short work of Anaconda in Western B football Friday, winning 51-6.

Little had touchdown runs of 27 and 4 yards and gained 57 yards on six carries. Kindle caught a 5-yard scoring pass from Caleb Utter and added a 9-yard scoring run.

Utter ran for 65 yards and a touchdown, and got the Lions (7-2, 4-1 in league) on the board with a safety. The quarterback was 7-for-12 passing 82 yards.

Johnny Fehr added a TD run for Eureka and led the defense with 3.5 sacks. The Lions outgained the winless Copperheads 270-114.

Hamilton 55, Columbia Falls 20

HAMILTON — Tim Zohner ran for 104 yards and three touchdowns, and unbeaten Hamilton exploded for 34 second-quarter points to subdue Columbia Falls in Western A play Friday.

Zohner had scoring runs of 9, 21 and 5 yards; Broncs’ quarterback Tyson Rostad ran for 93 yards and two scores and was 14 of 18 passing for 217 yards and another score.

Columbia Falls (5-2) answered Zohner’s first two TDs with a short scoring run from Cody Schweikert and a 55-yard touchdown pass from Schweikert to Jace Duval. The Wildcats trailed just 14-13, but then the Broncs got hot.

Schweikert was 8 for 21 passing for 138 yards, with two touchdown passes to Duval. The quarterback ran for 16 yards; Hamilton held Isaiah Roth to 5 yards on eight carries and outgained the Cats 466-185.

The Wildcats get the No. 4 seed out of the West into the playoffs, and get a first-round home game with Miles City.

Whitefish gets the No. 3 seed and plays host to Frenchtown.

Florence 62, Bigfork 27

FLORENCE — Patrick Duchien threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more Thursday, guiding unbeaten Florence over Bigfork in a Western B tilt.

Duchien was 14-for-19 passing for 320 yards, and ran 18 times for 66 yards as well. His scoring runs of 1 and 11 yards put the Falcons up 14-0; Bigfork closed to 14-7 and 21-14, the latter on Patrick Wallen’s 21-yard pass to Joseph Farrier.

Florence (8-0, 54-0 in league) really heated up from there, starting with a 6-yard run from Luke Maki.

Wallen was 10-for-17 passing for 122 yards and four touchdowns. He hit Isak Epperly for 33 yards and one score; the last two TDs went to Nick Walker. George Bucklin had nine carries for 86 yards for the Vikings (6-2, 3-2 in the Western B).
