Body found in vehicle in Montana irrigation ditch
BILLINGS (AP) — A body was found in a vehicle that had been submerged in an irrigation ditch in south-central Montana, Carbon County officials said Sunday.
A resident of Fromberg called dispatches at about 7 p.m. Saturday to report that he found a vehicle upside down in a ditch near his property, the sheriff's office said in a social media post.
Responding deputies said it appeared the vehicle had been there for some time.
Officers got in the water to investigate and found a body inside the vehicle.
The vehicle was recovered from the ditch on Sunday morning. The crash and death are under investigation.
