Bravettes log first win of season

The Bravettes got their first win Thursday, a 9-0 shutout of visitor Butte in Western AA soccer.
Ashlynn Whiteman scored a hat trick in the first half, and Flathead led 6-0 before the break. Whiteman has four goals through three games.
Scoring two goals was Rylee Barnes, who also had two assists.
“We played very well today,” Flathead coach Bledy Doda said. “The team showed up after two not very good results. Hopefully we continue with positives to the next game.”
Two Flathead (1-2) goalkeepers had assists — Sara Harrison on Peyton Walker’s goal and Joy Sund on Barnes’ second goal. The two goalies combined for 10 saves.

Butte scored three second-half goals and blanked the Flathead Braves 3-0 Thursday.
Boyd DeWitt, Cameron Tobiness and Cooper McKee scored for the Bulldogs.
Flathead lobbed nine shots on net but couldn’t get anything through.
“I asked the players at the end of the game if they felt like they left everything on the field and gave everything they had and they said yes,” Flathead coach Zach Brenneman said. “Butte was a good team, they just happened to be the team that scored all the goals and we didn’t today.”
The Braves fall to 1-3.
