Hockaday hosts Art as Therapy exhibit and reception
The Hockaday Museum of Art is hosting a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Sept. 9, for its community gallery exhibit, “Art as Therapy: A Healing Journey with the Montana Art Therapy Association.”
The reception is free for Hockaday members and $10 for nonmembers.
This exhibition, in collaboration with the Montana Art Therapy Association, examines the role of art in emotional and mental health and recovery from trauma. Therapists and their clients share insightful and remarkable artwork created as part of an ongoing therapy or independently for personal mental health and enjoyment.
The exhibit will be on view through Nov. 6.
The Hockaday Museum of Art is located at 302 Second Ave. E., in Kalispell. Hours through Oct. 2 are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
