Mark Anthony Klein, 57
On the morning of Sept. 1, 2021, Mark Klein went to be with the Lord. He passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena after battling Covid-19, with his wife and daughter by his side. Mark was 57 years old.
Mark Klein was born in the town of Swan Lake, Montana, on Dec. 30, 1963. He was the eighth child of Ruth and Jack Klein. As a child Mark was always playing practical jokes on his brothers and sisters; whether it was with a fake bug or fake arm, he was always up to something silly. Even as a grandpa he still played practical jokes on the grandkids with a fake arm. As a kid, Mark enjoyed going fishing and snowmobiling with his dad and brothers. Even later as a grandpa, he was always looking for that perfect place to take the grandkids fishing.
Mark was a very devoted and loving husband. He met his wife Charlotte in Long Beach, California. One of their favorite things to do was to go for long drives out in the country, Mark always seemed to find a back road to go exploring on. They also enjoyed hiking to waterfalls throughout California, Idaho, Montana and Washington. Mark was a loving grandpa and had a big impact on the grandkids. Some of the grandkids’ favorite memories are making birdhouses, going fishing, playing practical jokes on one another, taking the boat out and trying to find where his stash of candy was hidden. As the grandkids grew older, they enjoyed just sitting around talking and with grandpa. Mark’s love for Montana has transferred into the hearts of all the grandkids.
Mark’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He spent a great deal of time praying and reading the Bible every morning before work and on most Saturday mornings you would find him sitting for hours in the living room reading his Bible. Over the years he enjoyed volunteering his time at church helping to run the AV equipment on Sunday mornings. Mark always looked forward to the small group Bible studies he and Charlotte were a part of. At every chance, he would share God’s grace, love and mercy with others.
Mark is survived by his wife, Charlotte; his daughter, Amber; his son, Brad; his grandkids, Ayrton, Isaac, Alessandra, Lila and Archer; his sisters, Mary, Linda and Jackie; and his brothers, Terry and Andy.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Ruth and Jack; and his three brothers, David, Dan and Dick.
Services will be held at Life Point Church, East Helena, on Friday, Sept. 10, at 3:30 p.m.
Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home in Helena is caring for the family.
