The theme of the Flathead Quilters’ Guild 2021 show is “Garden Party” and it will take place Sept. 17 and 18 at the Flathead County Fairgrounds in Kalispell. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is $7 per person per day. Children under 12 are admitted free.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Heart Locker, a local facility which acts as a “store” to receive donated clothing, hygiene products, bedding and school supplies to give to students in need at no cost.

This year’s featured quilter is Lanette Cuffe who has been active with the guild for 25 years and is its current president.

The show will feature raffles for a quilt and baskets, vendors, demonstrations, displays and a boutique.

The Flathead Quilters’ Guild is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The guild supports three major endeavors in its mission: teach and inspire quilting, community outreach, and its annual quilt show. Founded in 1981, the Guild is open to anyone and can be joined anytime, including at the Quilt Show.

For her quilted chair, Lanette Cuffe quilted three separate panels and then pieced them together. Cuffe is the featured quilter at the 2021 Flathead Quilters' Guild show this weekend.

Lanette Cuffe's "Floors of Bannack" quilt was inspired by the linoleum flooring patterns in the buildings of the ghost town of Bannack near Dillon.
