Bravettes edge Helena High

The Bravettes won three straight sets Friday to defeat Western AA foe Helena High.

Helena won the first set but Flathead surged to victory by winning the next three.

Out of 19 Flathead service aces, Sienna Sterck recorded seven and also had five digs.

Savannah Sterck led the defense with 15 kills and eight digs.

Helena was held to 29 kills, but led in digs 26-24.

The Cougars had 18 aces, and Bailey Prewitt and Grace Anderson served four each. Zoe Linn recorded all 22 team assists.

Sophia Sulzbacher led defensively with 12 kills and also had five digs.

Stillwater is 4-2 overall and 1-0 in conference.

Whitefish fell to Stillwater Thursday in four sets in a non-conference game, which bumped the Bulldogs to 0-4.

“It was a high energy, fun game,” Stillwater coach Katie Guthrie said. “The girls constantly pushed to build momentum.”

Whitefish was held to 23 kills to Stillwater’s 39, including Sophia Sulzbacher’s 13.

RONAN — Polson edged Ronan in a Northwest A conference game that went to five sets.

Both teams posted an impressive number of digs: Polson 144 and Ronan 89. Camilla Foresti had 33 digs, 10 kills and four aces for the Pirates. Clara Todd also had 33 digs as well as seven aces and two blocks.

Olivia Clairmont was Ronan’s defensive leader with 21 kills and 4.5 blocks.
