Patty passed away Aug. 24, 2021.

She was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Kalispell to Lloyd and Katherine Buck. She grew up in the Flathead and spent summers at her grandparents’ ranch in Creston, often floating down Blaine Creek in her grandmother’s washtub.

Patty attended St. Matthew’s grade school and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1947.

On April 4, 1948, she married Thomas Parker Sevier Sr. Together, they raised their five children on 40 acres south of town. A tireless mother, Patty worked a full-time job, tended her massive garden and raised chickens and turkeys.

She was a lifelong devoted member of St. Matthew’s Parish, giving of her time, talent and treasure. She also spent more than 60 years as a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority – always helping with fundraising efforts for the community.

Patty’s lifelong desire to travel started in 1939 when she went to the New York World’s Fair. She visited most of our 50 states as well as many countries abroad, including China, Japan, Germany, Mexico, France, Spain, Italy, Gibraltar and more.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers (Denny and Greg Buck) and her husband “Parkie” of 59 years.

Patty is survived by her five children, Thomas Jr. (Sharon), David (Tami), Douglas (Melissa), Daniel (Michelle) and Kari; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Steve (Rosie) Buck; sister, Judy Balas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Sept. 21 at St. Matthew’s with rosary said at 11:20 a.m., followed by Mass at noon and burial directly after.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church.
