C-Falls girls, boys blow out Polson
POLSON — Findley Sundberg scored four and two Wildcats got their first varsity goals ever Tuesday as Columbia Falls cruised to a 10-0 win over Polson.
Sundberg’s 12 goals this season are second in Northwest A.
“We’ve been struggling with finishing so it was nice to get Max (Everett) on the board and (Braeden Fairchild) a shutout today,” coach O’Brien Byrd said. “And we have a couple missing guys due to injury so we moved guys around. Guys played in new spots and kept the level high … Just kind of shows you how deep our roster is this year.”
George Robbins and Nico Lang’s tallies were the first for both players at the varsity level.
Columbia Falls improves to 5-1-1, overall and 2-1 in conference, and Polson is 1-7 and 1-3.

POLSON — Maddie Robison and Cheyanne Johnston-Heinz combined on eight of Columbia Falls’ 10 goals, not to mention four assists, as the Wildkats outscored the Pirates.
Hope McAtee added two goals and two assists for the Wildkats, which her first goal making the score 4-0. Morgan McAleavey added an assist for Columbia Falls, and Zoey Byrd stopped four shots.
Robison (five goals) and Johnston-Heinz (three) weren’t the only ones with hat tricks: Tia Mercer had three goals for Polson.
