Bravettes play to draw with Eagles

MISSOULA — Mia Stephan scored twice and the Flathead Bravettes nursed a one-goal lead into the final minutes of a Western AA soccer game against Missoula Big Sky on Tuesday, but a late goal by Kelleigh Staples ensured the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Stephan scored both goals in the first half and the Bravettes led 2-0 for five minutes before Big Sky’s Brooklyn Ludeman cut that in half in the 39th minute.

Flathead held up the one-goal lead until the 75th minute, when Staples scored.

The Bravettes are 1-7-1 on the season.

MISSOULA — The Flathead Braves were shut out for a fifth straight game in a 2-0 loss to Big Sky.

Taevan Petersen and Noah Skinner scored for the Eagles, who won their first game of the season.

Flathead drops to 1-8, with their only win on Aug. 31, a 1-0 over Big Sky.
