‘The Lion King Jr.’ returns to Bigfork for final weekend
The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre presents the final weekend of Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.,” its first production of the 2021-2022 season.
Performances will be at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts Friday and Saturday, Oct. 1 and 2, at 7:30 p.m., with a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Oct. 3. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office one hour prior to performances. Ticket are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $9 for students and $8 for children under 10.
The enchanting modern classic from Disney, “The Lion King Jr.” is based on the hit musical still playing on Broadway.
“The Lion King, Jr.” tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters, including spunky lioness Nala, the charismatic meerkat Timon, and the loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar.
“The Lion King Jr. features classic songs from the 1994 film, such as “Hakuna Matata” and the Academy Award-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” as well as additional songs written for the Broadway production.
