Margaret Ellen Renneberg, 82
Margaret Ellen Renneberg, born to Leslie “Les” and Beatrice Holden in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, on Oct. 9, 1939, passed on April 6, 2022, after suffering a stroke.
Margaret and her former husband Roy Renneberg moved their family to Bigfork in 1979. They owned the Historical Bigfork Inn, for a time and operated it with their son Donald and daughter Pamela, up until they separated. She then worked as a waitress at the Old Outlaw Inn in Kalispell until she was hired on at Rosauers where she worked as a cashier for 22 years, until retirement.
Margaret was a lover of nature and animals. She was quick to take in a stray or her injured animal and nurture and love it back to health. Yes, this meant birds, squirrels or any other critter that came across her path. She was a member of the Eagles club for many years and loved dancing and listening to accordion music. Margaret spent every chance she could camping with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son Donald Renneberg, granddaughters Crystal Long, Kathryn Sands and Amanda Frelich, along with her grandson Matthew Long and grandsons Jonah, Mikah and Elijah Oswald, Gaven and Sebastian Long and Zeke Frelich. She was a wonderful matriarch and will forever be missed by her family and friends.
No local services will be held, as her final wish was to be buried with her parents in Surrey, British Columbia.
