Law roundup: Time to clean up the attic
Someone allegedly let a woman stay in their attic and called the Kalispell Police Department when she kept “flipping out,” telling them they had kids staying in the attic and vent and wanted her to leave. They said the attic dweller was supposed to be on a bus to Idaho. She eventually did leave and a local charity came through with a bus ticket.
A man was reportedly caught trespassing in a grocery store and smashed a loaf of bread on his way toward the exit. However, he refused to leave the property and proceeded to yell and cuss in front of the building. An employee waved down officers who responded to the scene.
A man allegedly stole aluminum foil and took off on a red and white bike.
A woman was allegedly assaulted by a man after she picked him up for lunch. An argument over a $20 sandwich had ensued and he stormed out. They got in a vehicle and she reached over to grab his hat off his head. He grabbed her arms and then her throat, strangling her, which caused her to drive up a curb and almost hit a light pole.
Someone, who purportedly bought tires for a woman, had questions about panhandlers when they spotted her still out collecting cash.
A woman in her 20s was allegedly in the common area of a building where she didn’t live causing a commotion by “stirring up rumors” and a resident wanted her removed. Officers advised her they would not tell someone to leave a location unless the property manager requested it. The resident said they would report the issue to the property manager.
A parent dropping off her child at preschool reported seeing a man with a long gray beard and long hair screaming and yelling at parents and teachers. Though he went inside an apartment building she still wanted officers to respond because it was an ongoing issue. Officers told the man to move along and advised the parent and the preschool manager about their options in filing a restraining order.
A woman allegedly threatened to shoot someone.
A man reportedly put another man in a chokehold and threw him to the ground before hitting him with a vehicle.
An employee flagged down an officer regarding a dog being inside a vehicle for nearly an hour on a hot day. Officers responded and saw open beer cans in the vehicle. The man’s probation officer searched the vehicle, the man was warned about open containers and animal cruelty and released. His girlfriend took the dog.
