Libby swamps E. Helena; Polson wins, Whitefish loses

LIBBY — Cy Stevenson ran for 164 yards and two touchdowns Friday, and Libby swamped East Helena 37-0 in a Western A football game.

Jace Deshazer added 155 yards on 12 carries, including a 2-yard TD to start the scoring in the first quarter. Stevenson, who had just 14 carries, had scoring runs of 2 and 51 yards.

Quarterback Trevor Collins ran for two scores as well: He rushed for 26 and threw for 35. Libby outgained the Vigilantes 451-134, and rushed for 146 yards.

Deshazer and Stevenson each piled up eight tackles on defense, and Chayse Hartley and Kasen Day came up with interceptions.

Polson 49, Butte Central 14

BUTTE — Jarrett Wilson threw four touchdown passes and ran for two more scores to lead Polson over Butte Central at Naranche Stadium.

Wilson threw for 235 yards, completing 18 of 39 passes. Tyler Wenderoth hauled in seven passes for 71 yards. Brock Henriksen caught two scoring strikes and Owen McElwee and Keyen Nash had the others.

Nash ran 10 times for 122 yards, including an 85-yard burst that capped the scoring. Nash’s TD catch covered 25 yards.

The Pirates outgained the Maroons 474-243. Wilson ran for 124 yards, including TDs covering 9 and 75 yards.

Dillon 26, Whitefish 9

WHITEFISH — Kee Christianson threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns, and Dillon’s defense held up in the Beavers’ win over Whitefish Friday.

Christianson was 12-for-20 passing and was picked off four times. He hit Nourse with scoring strikes of 56 and 64 yards; Nourse had five receptions for 154 yards.

Bulldog QB Fynn Ridgeway was 16-for-41 passing for 141 yards, with two picks. He also ran for 50 yards on 10 carries.

The Bulldogs’ Mason Kelch had six catches for 82 yards and gave his team an early 3-0 lead with a 35-yard field goal. They didn’t score again until Ty Schwaiger’s 17-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter.

Schwaiger ran for 28 yards on 10 carries, and caught two passes for 17 yards.

Kelch, Clayton Godsey, Carson Krack and Brady Howke all had interceptions.

Bonners Ferry 14, Eureka 0

BONNERS FERRY, Idaho — Cleo Henslee scored a touchdown, Charles Henslee intercepted two passes and the Bonners Ferry Badgers won this defensive non-conference battle Friday.

Tristan Butts threw for 643 yards and ran for a team-high 60 yards on 10 carries for the Lions. Haiden Johnson had nine rushes for 45 yards.

The Lions and Badgers had nearly identical stats: Eureka had 197 total yards and Bonners Ferry, 196. The difference was three interceptions, including one by Blake Rice, who also had nine tackles on defense.

Cleo Hensley rushed for 82 yards and Rice, the Badgers’ QB, added 50 on the ground..

Tyson Brouillette had seven tackles to lead the Eureka defense; he also caught three passes for 38 yards.
