COLUMBIA FALLS — Tayler Lingle scored a hat trick and Hope McAtee had three assists for Columbia Falls in a 9-0 rout of Missoula Loyola at Columbia Falls High School on Saturday.

The Wildkats are 2-0 to start the season after defeating Hamilton 5-2 Friday.

“We came into this game ready to play and showcased a lot of offensive firepower,” Columbia Falls coach Thomas Clark said. “I’m proud of the way our captains made sure that the team was prepared and focused throughout the game.”

Loyola first had an own goal, but it was all Wildkats after that.

McAtee also scored two goals, as did Sydney Mann. Lingle scored two goals against Hamilton on Friday.

“I think Tayler Lingle can be a real weapon for us this year, her athleticism and drive are unmatched,” Clark said. “She’s paired with talented playmakers, like Hope McAtee, that can provide her with chances and she is proving that she can finish them.”

Wildkats goalkeeper Zoey Byrd made seven saves.

COLUMBIA FALLS – Put down two in the win column for the Columbia Falls Wildcats soccer team.

The Wildcats defeated Missoula Loyola 3-0 Saturday, for their second win and second shutout in as many games. On Friday, the Wildcats topped Hamilton 3-0.

“These boys know how to play,” coach O’Brien Byrd said. “We know it’s only the second game of the season, and we know we have a lot more time to work on the fine-tuning of things, but today we play the brand of soccer that has never been played on that field. All the coaches are so incredibly impressed with the level that we’re producing in such a short amount of time.”

Finley Sundberg scored against Loyola and had two goals against Hamilton.

Adam Schrader, a defender, started off the scoring, and Walton Nichols assisted on Sundberg’s goal.

“Andrew Miner had the best game of his life at center back, Finley Sunberg continues his goal scoring streak, our first goal came from Adam Schrader, and our most valuable player without a doubt over these last two games has been Walton Nichols,” Byrd said. “He’s a three year captain, and is without a doubt our most consistent player.”
