Joseph E. Fisher, 65
Joseph E. Fisher, 65, of Kalispell, passed away unexpectedly in July 2022.
He was born on Jan. 10, 1957, in Anchorage, Alaska to Eleanor and Edward Fisher. When his father retired, the entire family, including his sister, Nancy Fisher of Stevensville, Montana, moved back to their family origins in Montana.
Joe’s perfect job was in education. He worked for the Marion School District as a librarian, computer specialist, and P.E. teacher. Joe loved his fellow educators, students, and the community of Marion. He was very active in extracurricular activities with his school.
Joe enjoyed taking part in various community activities; including folk dancing, Contra dancing, and volunteering at the Flathead Animal Shelter where he cleaned kennels twice a week. He photographed adoptable animals to help find permanent homes for them. Joe followed his sister Nancy’s lead in becoming a devoted owner of standard poodles for many years; first Seamus and then Teaghan. He and Nancy and their dogs participated in dog agility trials for many years. Joe took up photography. He photographed dogs at many dog agility trials. He sold his photos and videos of these trials to dog owners under his company named fisherdogshots.com.
Joe was a kind man. He loved his family, dogs, job, neighbors, friends, and Montana. He will be remembered for his giving nature and soft-spoken manner.
