Whitefish holding open house on community housing assessment
The City of Whitefish is holding a Community Housing Open House from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 31 in City Council Chambers at Whitefish City Hall, 418 E. Second St., Whitefish.
The open house will provide members of the public as much time and flexibility as possible to drop in, learn about Whitefish’s updated Housing Needs Assessment, and share comments, experiences and input.
City staff will present main findings of the updated Housing Needs Assessment at 10 a.m., 12:25 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Staff is particularly interested in input from people in groups who tend to be most vulnerable to displacement and housing cost burdens, including service workers, nonprofit workers, those with low or fixed incomes, people with disabilities, seasonal workers, single parents, and other similarly situated groups. Other groups highly encouraged to participate include workers in the public sector, healthcare, and other essential community labor.
Those who cannot attend the open house in person can learn about the key findings from the Housing Needs Assessment and provide input through an online questionnaire via the Online Open House portal on the city’s website. The Online Open House is available now at http://cityofwhitefish.org/575/Community-Housing and will close on Friday, Sept. 2.
