Law roundup: Man sharpens knives at Santa event
You better watch out. Santa is coming to town.
Kalispell Police Department received a report from a Santa event volunteer that a middle-aged “sketchy guy” wearing an orange hat was dropped off at the location and began sharpening two big knives. No word on whether he ended up on the naughty list.
A woman reportedly returned home to find her ex had broken into her apartment, which he had been kicked out of, and was presently outside screaming. Officers counseled the man about his options and told him he would be considered trespassing if he returned.
A woman allegedly called police asking about borrowing money for a taxi because she couldn’t walk anywhere and her debit card was locked because she couldn’t remember her pin. It was unclear to dispatchers where exactly she wanted to go.
A boy claimed his friend, a 10-year-old, grabbed his phone and prank called the police. Officers made contact with an adult who said everything was OK.
Officers warned young people about littering.
Someone wanted advice about acquiring ownership of an abandoned vehicle sitting at a location for more than a year.
A woman claimed her ex-fiance was refusing to give her cat back, saying it ran away. She was concerned he was withholding it from her and neglecting it although she did not know, or check to see, if he had the cat.
The photo page of a man’s passport was reportedly torn out of his passport and he had a hunch it happened in either Montana or another state and wanted to make a case report in case he needed it.
Someone alleged that an individual living in a vehicle on their property stole their key fob and $300 out of their car.
Two transients walked into a building and one of the individuals said she was having a miscarriage. She declined needing medical assistance after someone called for an ambulance and the pair left.
Someone asked officers to ask a man and woman in a damaged, parked car to move along. They said it looked like the pair were living in the vehicle and the man was walking around the parking lot.
