Whitefish School District seeks input on expansion
Whitefish School District is seeking community feedback about the need for expansion at Whitefish High School and the activities complex.
The school district held a community engagement meeting on Dec. 14, but now has an online survey open that community members are being asked to participate in until Jan. 16.
Meeting participants discussed the current need for exploring expansion options, reviewed initial design concepts, cost estimates, taxpayer impacts and were offered opportunities to give feedback.
“We want the Whitefish community to be well-informed about expansion information and have an opportunity to provide more feedback regarding our next steps,” said Superintendent Dave Means.. “We have many resources to help our community learn more and continue our conversation about the future growth of Whitefish High School.”
Recommendations from the district’s 2021 Long Range Facility Plan identified significant growth and critical needs of the high school as the top priority. The 600-student capacity at the high school is now nearly met and enrollment is expected to continue to move beyond the current capacity.
Community members may view the recording of the Dec. 14 meeting, including the presentation given, as well as provide more feedback by completing the online survey.
