Code Girls program light display at Stockman Bank
Code Girls United's advanced program participants installed a reactive LED light display in Stockman Bank in Kalispell.
The display was programmed in Python and uses a Raspberry Pi to create a display that involves the lights reacting to the frequency of music that is played. The higher the frequency the more reds and yellows, and the lower the more blues and greens. The lights scroll from the center of the LED strip circling the tree.
This was the capstone project for the technical portion of the advanced program. The girls will switch gears to business in January working as teams to solve a community problem creating an app in a simulated real-life software company experience.
This year's participants included Emma Anderson, Isabelle Ashely, Sylvia Blair, Elizabeth Burton, Makayla Davenport, Lainey Kneeland and Willow Truman.
