Ronan tops Columbia Falls in Western A play-in preview
COLUMBIA FALLS — Marlo Tonasket scored 14 points to lead three Ronan players in double figures, and the Chiefs beat Columbia Falls 54-49 in a Northwest A boys basketball game Monday.
The game, a make-up of one postponed on Jan. 17, decided who will host a Western A Divisional play-in game. Ronan (9-8 overall, 4-6 in league) needed to win by 10 or more, and Columbia Falls (10-8, 4-6) ended up holding possession in the final minutes to keep the margin under double digits.
The Wildcats and Chiefs will battle in Columbia Falls Friday at 6 p.m.; it’ll be their third matchup in eight days. Columbia Falls won 74-65 at Ronan on Feb. 10.
Ruben Couture and Elijah Tonasket scored 11 points each for Ronan. Alihn Anderson scored a game-high 17 for the Wildcats, while Jace Hill had 14 and Cody Schweikert, 10.
