Geneva Joyce 'Jenny' Jarvis, 89

| February 16, 2022 12:00 AM

Geneva Joyce “Jenny” Jarvis passed away on Jan. 26, 2022, in Billings at The Legacy Assisted Living.

She was born on Sept. 17, 1932, in Derrick, North Dakota, to Leo and Myrtle Eckes. She was married in Butte on Dec. 23, 1950, to her lifelong husband, Johnnie Jarvis, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1996.

Jenny moved from Butte to Kalispell in 2002 and loved spending time with her large family, which included two children, nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She could always be found at the many birthday parties for her children and grandchildren and all of the holiday gatherings. She was a very generous person and loved to go out to dinner with family members. She was always quick to laugh and truly enjoyed her family and her many friends at the Center Court Manor in Kalispell.

Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you.”

Jenny was preceded in death by her mother and father, her three brothers, Donald, Roland and William, along with her sister, Doris.

She is survived by her sister Charlotte of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and her son and daughter, Richard Jarvis and Debbie Ernster.

Jesus said, “I go before to prepare a place for you,” so a celebration of Jenny’s life in her new home with her Lord and Savior will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, located at 223 South Montana Street in Butte, and will be followed by a luncheon reception with an interment service following the reception at Mountain View Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.

Any donations made on her behalf may be given to either The Butte Rescue Mission or Flathead Industries of Kalispell.
