Glacier boys fall short in OT

MISSOULA — Jake Gardanier scored 14 points, including all of Missoula Big Sky’s points in overtime, and the Eagles survived a game with comeback-minded Glacier on Friday, 61-57.

The Wolfpack fell behind 21-10 in the first quarter of this Western AA boys battle, then surged back in the fourth to force an extra 4 minutes. Will Salonen hit four 3-pointers on the way to 14 points for Glacier (7-10 overall, 6-7 in league games), including two fourth-quarter threes.

Glacier managed just a single Noah Dowler basket in the extra period, however, and lost for the first time in five games.

Connor Sullivan added 11 points and Ty Olsen 10 for the Pack, which hit 10 3-pointers.

Shane Shepherd scored a game-high 16 for Big Sky (9-9, 7-7 in league).

Glacier plays host to Missoula Hellgate today at 4:15 p.m.
