Kalispell Public Schools board of trustees invites community members to be part of the district’s strategic planning process by attending an upcoming listening session.

Feedback from three sessions scheduled this month will be used to develop a five-year strategic plan that will serve as a roadmap for improving educational outcomes for students by reviewing the district’s overall vision, mission and goals. The strategic planning process is being facilitated by independent educational consultant, and former Kalispell superintendent, Darlene Schottle.

The first session will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Jan 10 at Kalispell Middle School, 205 Northwest Lane, in the cafetorium. The second session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Northwest Montana History Museum,124 Second Ave. E., Kalispell, in the Swanberg classroom. The third session will be held online only from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 24. A link is expected to be posted at the district website, https://www.sd5.k12.mt.us, the day of the meeting under “latest news.” People who are unable to attend a session may complete an online survey, which will be posted on the district website on Jan. 20.

The district is also seeking input from educators, business leaders, students and other stakeholders.
