Vikings knock Mission from unbeaten ranks

BIGFORK — Bryce Hilliard scored 15 points and the Bigfork Vikings edged Mission 57-54 Saturday, handing the Bulldogs their first boys basketball loss.

Colin Wade added 14 points and Isak Epperly had 11 to help Bigfork offset four 3-pointers and 21 points by the Bulldogs’ Zoran LaFrombois. The Vikings (7-4 overall, 6-1 in the 7-B) overtook Mission for first place with their second straight narrow win, having edged Eureka 55-54 Thursday.

Wade hit three 3-pointers, one coming in the fourth quarter where Bigfork seized a lead it wouldn’t give up. The Vikings went 7-for-13 on free throws in the fourth and outscored Mission 19-4 at the line.

Ross McPherson added 11 points for Mission (8-1 overall, 4-1 in league). Kellen McClure added 10 for the Bulldogs.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Jace Hill scored 16 points, Alihn Anderson added 15 and Columbia Falls downed Missoula Loyola Saturday for a non-conference win.

Anderson seven points in the third while the Northwest A Wildcats (6-4) pushed a 29-22 halftime lead out to 52-27.

Reynolds Johnston and Talen Reynolds scored seven points each for the District 6-B Rams.
