Legion: Libby triples way to win over Rangers
LIBBY — Caden Williams hit two triples, Tripp Zhang hit another and the Libby Loggers held down the Kootenai Valley Rangers for a 5-1 win Thursday at Gehring Field.
Williams’s triples came in the first and third innings; the latter came back-to-back with a three-bagger by Tripp Zhang. Williams scored on an error after each of his hits, and added an RBI single in the sixth.
Aiden Rose threw four strong innings, allowing four hits and a walk and striking out one, before three Logger relievers each threw a scoreless frame for Libby (8-20).
Tristan Butts singled to lead off the game, stole second and scored on Cole Hurst’s RBI single for the lone run for the 13-13 Rangers.
