Loggers walk off Bucs in opener
LIBBY — The Libby Loggers built a 5-0 lead, lost it, then downed the Bitterroot Bucs 6-5 when Landon Haddock’s eighth-inning, bases-loaded grounder was misplayed for an error Tuesday.
Haddock’s grounder came after Tripp Zhange and Aydan Williamson sandwiched singles around a walk to Caden Williams, all with nobody out..
Williamson got the win, throwing a scoreless eighth inning. Caleb Moeller threw two scoreless innings as well. Caden Williams fanned eight in five innings.
Zhang drove in two runs in what was the first game of a Class A Legion doubleheader. Haddock also drove in two, including an RBI single in the first inning.
Libby’s fourth straight win moved the Loggers to 11-20. The nightcap hadn’t been decided at press time.
