Thale Ileen Chubb-Balding, 86

Born in Wolf Point, Montana, November 14th 1935, Thale Ileen Chubb-Balding went to the Lord on June 30, 2022, at the age of 86.

Thale moved with her parents, Howard and Gertrude Chubb, to property they purchased in 1936 from Stoltze Lumber Company. She attended Columbia Falls Schools and graduated in 1954.

She married Samuel Deardurff in 1954. They had three sons, Michael, Daniel and Timothy. They lived in Montana and California, Camp Pendleton where Sam was in the Marines; they later divorced.

Living in the Flathead most of her adult life, Thale worked various jobs while raising her three sons. Her most notable position was activity director at Brendan House in Kalispell. Her retirement was spent volunteering for R.S.V.P. She led the Sunshine Chorus and Kitchen Band as they entertained at nursing homes.

Thale married Donald Balding Feb. 14, 2001. They spent many happy hours enjoying Flathead Lake at their home on Angel Point. He passed May 13, 2008. Thale then returned to her home on Chubb Lane.

She is survived by her two sons Michael (Karen) Deardurff and Timothy Deardurff; six grandchildren and multiple great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Friday, July 8, at First Baptist Church, 827 9th St. W. Columbia Falls, with viewing at 10 a.m., and the service beginning at 11 a.m.
