A hit batter with the bases loaded and a wild pitch scored the tying and go-ahead runs for the Mead Panthers Saturday, in a 4-3 win over the Kalispell A Lakers at the Harp Memorial Legion tournament.

Easton Capser’s RBI groundout and Tyler Williams’ single to score Kaden Drish had put the Lakers up 3-2 in the fourth inning.

The Panthers out of Spokane used a single, an error and a one-out walk to load the bases in the sixth. Wes Anderson scored the go-ahead run.

Jackson Heino was the tough-luck pitcher for Kalispell, going the distance. He allowed three earned runs on six hits and a walk, and struck out 10.

The Lakers (21-28-1) fell to 1-2 in the tournament ahead of Saturday’s late game against the Clark Fork Valley Riverdogs. That game had not ended at press time.

The tournament championship is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Griffin Field.
