Legion: Senators again sweep AA Lakers
HELENA — It’s fair to say Helena has one hot Legion team, after the Senators swept a second AA doubleheader from the Kalispell Lakers Monday, running their win streak to 17 games.
Hunter Bratcher threw a two-hitter at the Lakers in the first game, which the Senators (38-9) won 5-0; in the second game Helena scored the last seven runs to prevail 8-4.
Max Holden and Jackson Nelson had Kalispell’s hits against Bratcher, who pitched a seven-inning shutout without the benefit of a strikeout. He also walked none.
Kalispell starter Kostya Hoffman allowed four runs in four innings, before giving away to Max Holden.
Kalispell (27-19) built a 4-1 lead in the second game, with all the runs coming in the third: Hoffman and James Moody sandwiched RBI singles around run-scoring doubles from Gage Brink and Oscar Kallis.
A pair of Laker errors, a bases-loaded walk, two singles and two sacrifice flies let Helena tie the game 4-4 in the fourth; another bases-loaded walk helped the Senators score four runs in the fifth. Eric Cockhill’s two-run double helped as well.
The Lakers’ next action is a pair of road doubleheaders Friday and Saturday against the Billings Royals.
